Dagestan

Rise N' Glide runs 14-day wrestling and grappling camps in Dagestan, the Russian republic known for producing world-class wrestlers. Each camp starts with ten days of mountain training above 2,000 meters, then moves to the capital, Makhachkala, on the Caspian Sea.
When booking a retreat, it is crucial to use reputable vendors like Rise N' Glide, whose authenticity you can verify. The internet is filled with faceless websites that will take your deposit without delivering services. Rise N' Glide are people you can trust.

How to Prepare
Beginners are welcome, but no one should arrive unprepared, especially when training at 2,000 meters above sea level.
- Train freestyle wrestling before you go.
- Build your cardiovascular endurance. The altitude makes every session harder.
- No wrestling near you? No-Gi Jiu-Jitsu is the recommended alternative.
- Not sure where to start? Rise N' Glide will recommend what is best for you.

Meet the Founder

A lifelong martial artist with eight years of amateur and pro Muay Thai and 13 years of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Tahseenov built Rise N' Glide over eight years to create the training camp in Dagestan he could never find.
Tahseenov started in Shotokan Karate as a child, then competed in amateur and professional Muay Thai for about eight years before devoting himself to Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, which he has trained for the last 13 years.
While living in the UAE, he trained under Dagestani coach Umar Abdulrashidov, founder and head coach of JSJ Team, a black belt in both Judo and Jiu-Jitsu, and a Combat Sambo World Champion. On his own trips to Dagestan, he found there was no structured, all-in-one camp that combined training, accommodation, transportation, meals, and cultural experiences.
He spent eight years turning that idea into Rise N' Glide, which describes itself as the first and only company offering exclusive wrestling and grappling camps in Dagestan. He was so committed that he left college to build it full time. He is open that the road included hard moments, uncertainty, and mistakes, and he sees what Rise N' Glide has built as only the beginning.
